This 40 card set depicts the best Japanese baseball players of the era. The cards within the box are perforated pairs. The box is unopened. Therefore, the cards have not been touched since they were packed by the manufacturer 61 years ago! The box contains a complete card set. There are 16 Hall of Famers in set. Can you imagine what a group of 40 1959 Topps cards in unopened packs, known to include cards of 16 Hall of Famers would be worth????
HOF players include Shigeo Nagashima, (Japan's Mr. Baseball), Masaichi Kaneda (400 lifetime victories), Kazuhisa Inao (won 40 games in one season), Katsuya Nomura (657 lifetime HR), Tetsuya Yoneda (300 career wins), Minoru Murayama (Man of Flames) rookie card, Yoshinori Hirose, Tatsuro Hirooka, Shinichi Eto (rookie card), Yoshio Yoshida, Kenjiro Tamiya, Tokuji Iida, Motoshi Fujita, Kazuhiro Yamauchi, Futoshi Nakanishi and Tadashi Sugiura. Also, North Americans Chico Barbon, Carlton Hanta and Jack Ladra. The immortal Shigeo Nagashima appears on the box cover.
