This card was originally a first prize winner premium attached to a display sheet. It is the only example of this card known to the hobby. If the purchaser of a regular JBR 87 card had the number "1" printed on the card's blank back, then the owner of the card was entitled to select a first prize winner card like this one from the display sheet that hung in the store where the regular JBR 87 card was purchased.

Juzo Sanada began his Japan Pro Baseball career in 1943. After a two year absence due to World War II, he resumed play for the Pacific team, and then played for the Robins and Tigers, retiring after the 1956 season. Sanada, a pitcher, was known for having the best curveball in Japan Pro Baseball, which he rode to 39 victories in 1950. During his career, he pitched two no hitters. He was inducted into the Japan Pro Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990. Blank backed card.

Size: 8 1/4" x 10 3/8"
