This item was a "furoku" or bonus included with the May 1954 issue of Middle School Student & Friend magazine. The pages of this highly unusual item have color coded tabs, so the reader can go immediately to the page of his/her favorite team. Each page, except for the last two, consists of player photos and captions of the stars of a particular team. In all, there are photos and captions for 93 different players. The last two pages are the complete rosters of all 14 teams. The cover depicts Orions slugger Kaoru "Big Lebowski" Betto (HOF) and Giants pitching star, Takumi Otomo. The back cover is an ad for various non-sport books.
