Morimichi Takagi (d. 2020) was a slick fielding second baseman with the Chunichi Dragons for 21 seasons (1960-1980). He was known for his backhand tosses around the second base bag, but he could hit and run as well. He stole 369
bases lifetime and walloped 236 round trippers. He was selected to the Central League Best 9 team seven times, the most of any second baseman during the two league era that began in 1950. He also spent several years managing the
Dragons.
This shikishi (Japanese signing board) was issued to commemorate Takagi's induction into the Hall of Fame in 2006. Takagi has signed this special commemorative shikishi boldly in blue marker. Takagi's autographs are not
easy to obtain. This is only the third autographed Takagi item that we have ever offered for auction.
