Known as The God of Batting and arguably the most successful manager in world baseball history as well, Kawakami signed this bromide card type photo in blue fountain pen in the late 1940s. Kawakami's career as an active player
included the years 1938 to 1958, so this is a great, mid-career example of Kawakami's signature. Vintage images signed by Japanese players are far more difficult to find than similar pictures signed by American players. This is only the
third Kawakami autographed image signed during his career as an active player that we have been able to offer during our 32 years in business. The autograph is large, boldly signed and crisp.
Size: 2" x 2 1/4"
Condition: Autograph--8 out of 10. Card--Ex/Mt. A previous owner has written Kawakami's name on the blank back. Also, evidence of previous attachment to an album.
