After two stellar years with the Osaka Tigers, Betto moved on to the Mainichi Orions for the 1950 season. It was a career year for him, as he won the Pacific League MVP while attaining personal career highs of 43 homers, 105 RBI and a 1.068 OPS, all of which led the league, This second prize card from a display sheet commemorates Betto's outstanding season. Only three copies of this card are known in the hobby, making it an exceedingly rare issue. By the way, the iconic Betto t-shirt worn by Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski was also worn by Bridges in the movies, The Fisher King and Cold Feet. Maybe Betto's nickname should be changed from the Gentleman of Baseball to Mr. Hollywood! Blank backed card.

Size: 3 9/16" x 5"

Condition: Ex/Mt to Nm. There is extra paper and glue at the top of the blank back due to the card's originally having been issued on a display sheet. All copies of this card were issued on display sheets and contain the extra paper and glue, so this condition does not affect the card's grade.
