While this giant card is the size of a first prize baseball card from a display sheet, it contains no text, so we are not certain that it is a baseball card and not a photo. However, because of the thick, non-photographic paper stock on which it is printed, we are leaning toward saying that it is indeed a baseball card. In any case, it showcases the winners of multiple awards presented at the end of the 1949 East-West All Star Series. The games were played on 12/2, 12/4 and 12/6, with the East taking two of three contests from the West. Hideo Fujimoto (left) was the winning pitcher in both East victories, so it is no wonder that the image shows him in possession of several awards. Makoto Kozuru (center) is holding a trophy bat, so we are surmising that he was the East's top hitter during the three contests. Fumio Fujimura (right) of the West team has the Sport Mainichi Newspaper Batting Award at his feet, among his several trophies. The image is a rare glimpse into the history of Japan Pro Baseball. Blank backed.
