In the 1953 Japan Series, the Yomiuri Giants prevailed over the Nankai Hawks in a tense, seven game affair. In Game 7, the Giants staged a three run, come from behind rally in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out a 4-2 victory. The Kobai Caramel Company is well known for their numerous 1950s series of Yomiuri Giants cards that were issued in the box containing their candies. Groups of cards could be sent into the company in exchange for various premiums, and apparently this was one of them. The Kobai Caramel logo is stamped on the reverse of the buckle. The front features a Giants pitcher, the team logo, the year, and the Japanese inscription, "Yomiuri team championship commemorative". The buckle is still wrapped inside the original packing paper and wood box in which it was issued.

Size: The buckle is 2 3/8" x 1 1/2".

Condition: Belt buckle and packaging are Nm.
