Vintage Japanese game used bats, unlike American major league bats, are extremely difficult to find. All player equipment was considered to be the property on the
team, and it was not appropriate for anyone to remove the equipment from the clubhouse. Game used bats from the 1950s are rare. A game used bat of a Hall of
Famer from the 1950s is almost unheard of!
Raised in Taiwan, Hiroshi Oshita entered Japan Pro Baseball in 1946 following a stellar career at Meiji University. He was the most feared hitter in the early years of the
Pacific League. Oshita was named to eight Best 9 teams during his career. He batted an astounding .383 in 1951. He was elected to the Japan Hall of Fame in 1980.
This King brand Oil Temp bat was produced by the Maruha Sports Co., Ltd. Oshita's facsimile signature is engraved on the barrel. The number "3" appears on the
knob. That was Oshita's uniform number throughout his Japan Pro Baseball career (1946-1959). This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain a game used bat of the most
feared hitter in the Pacific League during the early 1950s.
