A shitajiki is a sheet of plastic placed between a student's writing paper and his school desk to prevent scratching the desk while writing. The front of this shitajiki has an image of Osaka Tigers Hall of Famer Fumio Fujimura. Fujimura played for the Tigers from the initial season of Japan Pro Baseball (1936) until 1958. Early in his career he was a pitcher, but later he switched to third base. He excelled at both positions, with a lifetime ERA of 2.34 and lifetime batting average of .300, proving that Babe Ruth and Shohei Otani aren't the only great two way players in baseball history. The back of the shitajiki is filled with information such as the English alphabet, Japanese holidays and measurements. In contrast to nearly all other baseball memorabilia and cards of the era, this product was officially licensed by the pro baseball league.
