We are estimating that this set was produced in approximately 1939, since Kaizo, represented with a pennant in this lot and with two player jerseys as well, won the Koshien Tournament that year for the first time after ten years of often missing the tournament and never winning a game after the first round. Chukyo, the 1937 winner, is also represented with a pennant here, along with other prominent High Schools of the era. Five of the Big Six University League teams are found in this lot. The text found on the front of each card simply lists a position for the generic player pictured and the result of a baseball play.
