Mitsuo Douglas Matsuoka was a 22 year old graduate of Iolani High School in Hawaii who signed to pitch for the Yomiuri Giants in 1954. His entire career in Japan consisted of seven games, 23 innings and an 0-1 record with a 4.30 ERA. As such, his autograph on Yomiuri Giants team baseballs and shikishi is quite scarce. In fact, this is the first such item we have ever seen. His inclusion on this shikishi enhances an already stellar collection of names, encompassing the entire 25 man roster. Players included are: Shigeru Mizuhara (Manager) (HOF), Tetsuharu Kawakami (HOF), Hiroshi Nakao (HOF), Shigeru Fujio, Minoru Suzuki, Akira Iwamoto, Sho Horiuchi, Masayuki Kasahara, Shigeru Chiba (HOF), Saburo Hirai, Masanori Iritani, Takumi Otomo, Jun Hirota (Hawaii), Onpei Minami, Kiyoshi Matsuda, Yasuo Kusunoki, Takehiko Bessho (HOF), Michio Doki, Yuko Minamimura, Wally Yonamine (HOF) (Hawaii), Tatsuro Hirooka (HOF), Akiharu Tezuka, Hiroki Komatsubara, Douglas Mitsuo Matsuoka (Hawaii) and Hideo Fujimoto (HOF). Signed with a calligraphy pen.

Size: 9 1/2" x 10 3/4"

Condition: The shikishi exhibits light browning and staining which does not affect the signatures. Signatures--Mostly 9 and 10 out of 10.
