In 1929, Ichioka Middle School from Osaka Prefecture advanced to the quarterfinals of the National High School Baseball Championships at Koshien before losing a hard fought 1-0 pitchers duel to Totori Ichi Middle School. Ichioka's star pitcher, Shizuo Miyamura (upper right), signed his photo in fountain pen, as did his three teammates, Tadao Fujita (upper left), Noriyoshi Tominaga (lower left) and S. Matsumoto (first name unknown) (lower right). The photos were taken at Koshien by Mitsuhiko Fujita and originally formed a portion of the Sotheby's Fujita Collection.
