Offered here is the only known example of this postcard sized, blank backed card which was most probably produced to honor the Giants' 1953 Japan Tour. It was apparently issued as a second prize winner card on a manufacturer's display sheet. Hearn had a 3-0, 1.07 record during the Tour. In 1953, he was in the middle of a thirteen year major league career which he finished with a 109-89 record. The Japanese text on the card states, "New York Giants Jim Hearn pitcher".
