Not long ago, we checklisted for the first time the Yuasa & Company 1931 Tour of Japan Bromide set. Based on the very few cards known to the hobby at the time, we felt that the set was complete at 16 cards. Now, we have found three
additional cards in the set. One of these is a U.S. team image, and we present that card here, At this point, no other examples of this card are known in the hobby. All fourteen players on the Tour are pictured here, with Lou Gehrig at
upper right, and Lefty Grove in between the two men in suits. Such luminaries as Al Simmons, Rabbit Maranville, Frankie Frisch, Mickey Cochrane and Lefty O'Doul are also seen. The All Stars won all 17 games on the Tour, setting the
stage for the 1934 Tour when Gehrig, Kelly and O'Doul returned with Babe Ruth. Blank backed.
Size: Approximately 3 3/8" x 5 3/8"
Condition: Would be Ex except for damage in the upper corners and on the blank back from having been attached to an album with corner mounts.
