When Mel Bailey and Bud Ackerman first brought this set to the U.S., American collectors were amazed. These large size standups contain dazzling pure card images of Japan Pro Baseball's top players of the era. Rarely seen in Japan,
this set is highly prized by collectors on both sides of the Pacific. Several small hordes of JF 2 (1964 Morinaga Non-Standups) have been discovered in Japan over the years, but new discoveries of JF 1 in bulk have never emerged,
making JF 1 somewhat scarcer than JF 2 today. This lot contains cards of some of Japan's best players ever. (Top row, left to right) Katsuya Nomura (HOF) (657 lifetime HR), Masaichi Kaneda (HOF) (400 wins, 4,490 strikeouts), Kazuhisa
Inao (HOF) (won 40 games in a season), (bottom row, left to right) Futoshi Nakanishi (HOF) (former ROY and MVP), Yasumitsu Toyoda (HOF) (nine time all star), Shinichi Eto (HOF) (first to win batting titles in both leagues), Yasuhiko
Kawamura.
Size: Each card is 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".
Condition: Each card is Nm or better and the standup feature has never been used on any of them.
