The ultra rare Tokyo Watanabe Seika Gum cards were made by the same manufacturer as the better known 1960 Hero Gum cards. These small, red background gems feature only cards of Yomiuri Giants players. Most cards, including this one, were redeemable for prizes, increasing the scarcity in today's market. Prize redemption information is printed on the back. Hirooka, known as the Iron Shogun, was the Giants' shortstop from 1954 to 1966. He later managed the Swallows and Lions to Japan Series championships.
